Talk on the Search Process
Sample Application Materials (mine)
Good but Gone
A couple of people used to have good materials from their own searches
online and available, but they have removed the material. You might try
searching here, or one day I might
ask them if they can send me a copy to post myself.
- Mary Baker (Ph.D. Berkeley, Asst. Prof. Stanford) had a nice talk on the search process.
- John Chapin (Ph.D. Stanford, Asst. Prof. MIT) had his own materials and some advice.
- KAPPS - KAplan's PhD Position Service
You might also ask friends who have recently begun academic jobs and
new faculty at your school for their application materials. I found them
to be quite helpful and supportive; most people don't want to make their
materials public, but they don't mind helping people that they know.
